The Rainbow Heartlands programme has launched in Perth & Kinross – an activities and opportunities for LGBT+ folk across the region!
We’ll bring a new range of social activities, promote existing groups and gatherings, and encourage the launch of new ones too!
Alongside the activities programme, we’ve been running an online survey about life as an LGBT+ person in Perth & Kinross, and providing this digital hub to give you easy access to events, groups and information.
In more recent times, we’ve taken a focus on supporting people’s mental health, with a range of wellbeing activities and support in Spring/Summer 2022.
We also want to hear from you – your ideas, your experiences, safe places to be you, things you’d really like to see happen! The more we talk, the more we can make things happen in the community.
We’re hoping that this programme gives more people the chance to be themselves, and that this continues into the future as well. We really value your feedback on the upcoming activities, and we will do our best to keep more things coming in the future as well.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the funders and supporters of the Rainbow Heartlands programme so far:

A few comments:
“We want to provide the people of Perth & Kinross with something new and different. For those who identify as LGBT+, it’s important to recognise their individual skills and abilities – providing opportunities to develop skills and to try new things can really help lift our mood and helps us meet new people.Matt Wester, Rainbow Heartlands Project Officer
“Although we acknowledge COVID is a worry for many people, we want to show that events and activities can happen safely – whether it’s by joining an arts group or trying a sport for the first time, it all helps.”
“I’m looking forward to seeing the fantastic Rainbow Heartlands project launching next month. It will provide our LGBT+ communities across Perth and Kinross with great opportunities to get together again after a long period apart due to the pandemic. It is our hope that other groups and organisations will be inspired to take part, and we encourage anyone who would like to take part, or is thinking of organising some events along with Pink Saltire to get in touch with them.”Councillor Peter Barrett, Perth & Kinross Council Equalities Lead
“As restrictions are easing, Perthshire Pride are delighted to be involved with such an incredible project led by Pink Saltire to once again bring LGBTQ+ social events to the region. It is great to see a diverse programme of activity that will engage the LGBTQ+ community, focus on improving mental health within the community and support local LGBTQ+ Groups and businesses.”Dougie Scott, Perthshire Pride
